GOTV Spotlight

- GOTV 4th issue

In this issue, we look at women and politics.

The relative dearth of women in politics is not just a local phenomenon. Hong Kong has a much higher percentage of women in its legislature than Japan (9.4%) and South Korea (13.7%). Still, we pale in comparison to Taiwan's Legislative Yuan, where a quota system reserves approximately 10% of each party's seats for women. 30% of its legislators are female, making it the most gender-balanced legislature in Asia and placing it among the most balanced in the world.
